Here is my candid review of the Power Grips.
The free weight hack squats are awkward and the grip is difficult. I was able to rep with 285 using the Power Grips, so they were definitely a help in this exercise.
The Power Grips would also help with high-rep standing toe raises and other exercises in which the weight is hanging for a long time.
For short partial deadlifts I pulled a 405 single with both an alternate grip and with the Power Grips. On this night my back and legs prevented me from pulling heavier singles, so it is hard to compare grips. The Power Grips do eliminate the asymmetrical body torque that you get with the alternated hand grip.
I would expect the grips to help when doing high reps with a moderate weight - like sets of 10 with 275 - where your grip would weaken near the end of the set.
I got more reps of bent over rows with the Power Grips, They might also help with shrugs, especially with higher reps.
Power Grips for women
Many women can lift more weight than the can grip. These Power Grips can help with lat pull-downs and other exercises.
1. SLIP YOUR HAND THROUGH THE STRAP FOLLOWING “ALONG” WITH THE ARROW LOCATED ON THE BACK OF THE STRAP (*YOU WILL AND SHOULD HAVE A TIGHT FIT GOING THROUGH*)
2. THE RIVETED PART OF THE STRAP IS ALWAYS POSITIONED ON THE BACK OF THE WRIST, WITH THE ARROW SHOWING - IF IT IS NOT SIMPLY SLIP THE STRAP THROUGH THE SLOT IN THE POWER GRIP UNTIL IT IS POSITIONED PROPERLY.
3. APPROACH THE BAR WITH THE GRIPS HANGING FREELY FROM THE WRIST. HOOK THE GRIPS “UNDER AND AROUND THE BAR” AND GRIP FIRMLY WITH THE HAND AS PICTURED.
DO NOT CLIP POWER GRIPS OVER THE TOP OF THE BAR !
